The piece of paper said: You have tennis elbow.
The machine whirred and hummed for fifteen seconds and spit out a piece of paper. So the man went down to the drugstore and poured the required urine sample into the machine. A friend of his told him there was a wonderful new diagnostic machine at the drugstore and suggested he try it out. You should refer to at least 3 events in your paragraph.A man without medicare or medical insurance injured himself playing tennis and couldn't afford to go to the doctor. Your job is to draw together the events that relate to your question, and write one paragraph that summarises what happens over the reign of Edward and Mary. You will now be given one of the 6 key questions. Read up on your event! Complete the tasks outlined at the top of the timeline worksheetħ Homework Do further research and produce a factsheet/ hand-out on your two events Print enough for everyone in the class (18) Bring to next lessonĨ Timeline Activity 2 You should now have a timeline colour-coded and with comments in each box that refer to the concept of change and continuity. You will see that there is already a brief description of the event, and where the event is covered in the textbook. This means that after these two lessons, we can start looking at change and continuity across their reigns in relations to the key questions.Ħ Timeline Activity 1 You will be given 6 events from the timeline.
The purpose of these next two lessons is to create a timeline that contains all the key events in Edward and Mary’s reign. This means Edward and Mary will always be asked in the same question – with either Henry or Elizabeth added on to meet the 20 year requirement. The unit offers 6 different ways of assessing change/continuity over this time period, these are the 6 key questions! The questions in your exam will cover NO LESS than 20 years… Edward reigns for 6 years, and Mary for 5 years (11 in total). (America covers 32…) The purpose of this unit, is to test whether you can understand how England changed/stayed the same over this time period. In total the unit covers 118 years of history. Many historians dismiss the idea of crisis and point to bigger rebellions outside this period and achievements of Edward and Mary’s governments along with the lack of evidence that the Tudor dynasty was in genuine peril during this period. They point to the rebellions, economic problems and failures in foreign policy along with strong influences over Edward and Mary. The arguments centres around the comparative strength of the early Monarch’s Henry VII and Henry VIII and strength of Elizabeth compared to the seeming weakness of Edward (child) and Mary (married woman). Recall key events across the reigns of Edward and Mary Explain how these events show change/continuity over time Evaluate the significance of events in relation to the 6 key questionsģ Mid Tudor Crisis Whitney Jones and other Historians have argued that in the middle of the Tudor period there was a ‘crisis’ in which the monarchy became weak, there was a crisis in government (factionalism and weak government), increasing socio- economic problems, rebellion and religious upheaval) Most concentrate on the reigns of Edward and Mary but the crisis can be seen to extend from the latter years of Henry VIII’s reign through the early stages of Elizabeth’s reign.
